Leonardo Hotels – Case Study
Fast-growing hotel chain Leonardo Hotels UK opened a brand-new location on 28th April in Manchester Piccadilly. The hotel gathered a unique reputation and was dubbed the ‘Jenga’ building due to its quirky exterior and earned itself a design award from Manchester Society of Architects before it opened its doors. It features 275 stylish bedrooms filled with luxury goods such as complimentary toiletries and the Leonardo DREAM bed. Situated in a prime location, on the corner of Great Ancoats Street and Adair Street, it is the perfect new spot for customers to explore the regenerated Piccadilly East neighbourhood.
Developed by Manchester-based social impact developers Capital&Centric, the extravagant new-build took inspiration from Milan’s Bosco Verticale (vertical forest) and showcases greenery all the way up the 14-story tower. The hotel also features an on-site bar and restaurant, Leo’s, which serves a range of food and drinks throughout the day for both dine-in and takeaway.
A number of companies were brought onboard the project by Group Project Manager Alan Taylor so that the new addition to the Leonardo brand could be completed. Bowmer & Kirkland Ltd were the main contractors on this project, working alongside Venture Management Consulting Ltd the Project Managers and Interior Designers NoChintz who created the look for the hotel.
We at Servaclean too worked on the project; designing, manufacturing and installing the bars and supplying refrigeration units, enabling the hotel to deliver its food and beverage facilities easily. The counter tops and fronts were provided by Forest Contracts Ltd, completing the bars making them ready to use.
Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly will join The Midland Manchester, a Leonardo Royal Hotel, which was rebranded in 2020 following a refurbishment. The two Manchester sites are part of the numerous Leonardo hotels that have worked with Servaclean over the last few years.
In 2020, Servaclean designed, manufactured and fitted bars in multiple Leonardo hotels in and around London that underwent a full refurbishment following a change in ownership; Leonardo Royal Hotel London City; Leonardo Royal Hotel Tower Bridge and Leonardo Royal Hotel St Pauls, which houses rooftop bar Sabine. In October 2021 we installed one of our bars and supplied refrigeration for the new Leonardo Chester Hotel, which opened November 2021. On all of these projects Servaclean has continuously worked alongside main contractors Edgewater Contracts and Specialist Joinery and interior designers Cunningham McLean Partnership.
Leading the Leonardo projects and Servaclean’s ongoing partnership with the group has been Managing Director Andy Royston. If you would like to discuss a specific project with us, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
